and collection software is very easy to use. Progress is color coded so the progress of the formatting,
deployment, or collecting can be followed. The legend provided is easy to understand, and displayed to the right of the screen for quick referencing.
Formatting and deployment can be run at the same time.
Formatting or deployment cannot run at the same time as the collection. They
are organized on separate tabs. This ensure no mistakes will be made by
formatting the wrong devices and overwriting material. Each USB memory device has its own indicator. This way if there is an error in formatting
or collecting, it will indicate which device has failed. The entire formatting
/ collecting process will not need to be re-run; only the device with the error will be re-run. The user is also able to choose which devices if any they do not want to have formatted
or collected from.
Labels can be optionally added to the USB memory device. These labels can be alpha numeric.
Auto incremented numbers can be optionally added to the labels of the USB memory devices. This assigns unique identifiers to each USB device, and can help to keep track of the devices.
If auto increment is chosen, the number to start at can be specified. The labels would start at the specified number and auto increment by 1 for each successive device.
Selecting a USB
Which devices to format can be chosen. Therefore not all USB devices connected to the computer need to be formatted. This is convenient for users with internal hard drives.
Ready boost devices are automatically disabled and will not be formatted with the other USB devices.
A full format is performed; this means the USB FAD formats everything as well as tests each sector for read / write problems. Sectors with problems are marked as bad.
Folders can be optionally deployed to the USB devices. The desired folder can be entered directly or there is a browse option to help find the correct folder.
If there is a folder selected to be deployed, the size of the folder will be displayed. The user can check to ensure they have enough free space on the USB device based on the size of the folder.
If there is a folder selected to be deployed, the number of files and folders is displayed. This can be useful to make sure the correct number of files and folders are present.
Collect to One Folder
Files on the USB
devices can all be collected to one folder specified by the user.
Collect to Separate Folders
Files from each
USB device can be collected to separate folders, all contained within one main
